Top 5 Social Apps Performance on Android in Europe: Q4 2024

In the fourth quarter of 2024, the top social apps on the Android platform in Europe exhibited varied performance trends, according to data from Sensor Tower.

TikTok - Videos, Shop & LIVE saw a significant increase in weekly downloads towards the end of the quarter, peaking at approximately 1.4M in the last week of December. The app's weekly revenue also experienced a notable rise, reaching around $13.7M in late December. Meanwhile, weekly active users increased steadily, from 102M to 105M by the end of the quarter.

Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat maintained relatively stable download numbers, with a noticeable peak of 20.8K in the week before Christmas. Revenue showed a slight dip at the beginning but recovered to $344K by the end of December. Weekly active users fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter with approximately 633K.

Instagram experienced a gradual increase in downloads, culminating in over 911K in the final week. Revenue trends were consistent, closing the quarter at $229K. Active users fell slightly at the start but rebounded to finish at 147M.

Tango- Live Stream, Video Chat had a volatile quarter, with downloads dropping sharply in early December but recovering to 122K in the final week. Revenue varied significantly, with a low of $26K in early December before rising to $154K by the end of the month. Weekly active users showed resilience, ending the quarter at 668K.

Facebook maintained a strong presence with downloads increasing to 773K by Christmas week. Revenue was stable throughout the quarter, closing at $145K. Active users saw a slight increase, ending the quarter at 153M.
